Wine & Chocolate Festival Poster

After receiving constructive feedback on my 4th sketch with the image of a group of people toasting and having fun, I decided that I would choose that particular sketch as my template with a few modifications.  It portrayed the message the best that I wanted to convey to my audience of wine lovers.  I had fun with this design and used many more features in Photoshop while creating it.  


I used a wine color for the word "wine" as well as the majority of the type and a brown color for the word "chocolate."  The tagline, "Good friends and wine are cheaper than therapy." is displayed in white to stand out from the other text and draw attention to it suggesting pure fun in a social setting with friends and to relate to the image I chose.  I originally colored in the background with the paint brush tool in a lighter pink to offset the wine color.  However, I found the background image of wine being poured into a wine glass and chose to use it as an overlay at 30% opacity and used the darken blending preset to bring out the hue of pink from the layer underneath around the wine glass.  

The Bauhaus 93 font used for the "wine and chocolate" title and Brush Script font for "Festival," were the closest match to the fonts used for the actual logo.  I added a wine bottle for the "i" in wine and a chocolate covered strawberry for the "o" in chocolate using layers.   I used the font Benard MT Condensed to create the text box to fit nicely next to "Festival" while standing out and not blending with the other text (I also used it for the admission prices).  The style and layout that I chose to arrange the text added structure and separation of the information while leaving an appropriate amount of white space.

After the many comments and a little research on my part, I decided to apply the changes for comparison and get some feedback on my revisions.

The Archangel Gabriel, Saint George and the Dragon, and the Lighthouse at Honfleur

Through the many images of the National Gallery of Art, I chose three works of art that peaked my interest:  The Archangel Gabriel, Saint George and the Dragon, and The Lighthouse at Honfleur. AS Designs - Final Portfolio Website

Welcome to my final portfolio website!   I made quite a few changes to my website to incorporate the feedback that I received.  I decided to take my portfolio pictures off the main page as they are also on my portfolio page and add a picture that complemented my theme.  The image is of a woman with a crystal ball, and I added my tagline, "Imagine. Create.
